3 December 2025
Baylor University has recently begun a new partnership with the BWA (see press releases pasted below). Attached is the description of the new position we have created at Truett Seminary. We believe that the person who fills this position will have a significant impact on Baptist life (and beyond) around the world. It also is an endowed chair that could be offered as a full professorship.

The search committee want to make sure they have as many women as possible in their candidate pool.  Do pass the attached notice to anyone who might be interested.

25 April 2026
Our friends at The Canadian Baptist Historical Society have issued a Call for Papers for their 2026 Annual Meeting.  They write:
While the CBHS is primarily focused on Canadian Baptist history, papers will be considered on the history of other Baptist communities worldwide. The deadline for paper proposals is 31 December 2025. Please send by email a 200-word summary of the proposed paper and a CV to Gordon Heath
(address below).

The CBHS traces its origins back to the nineteenth century when Baptists passionate about their heritage began a process of preserving critical documents and studying the Baptist presence in Ontario and Quebec. Its primary focus is on the history of all Baptists in the Canadian context, but the study of Baptists around the globe is also a part of its mandate. Scholars, pastors, students and those interested in Baptist history are all warmly invited to attend meetings of the society.

The meeting is in-person as well as live-streamed. Papers may be presented in person or by Zoom.

For proposal submissions, or further information on the annual meeting, please contact:

Starts November 2025 - Encountering the Anabaptists Course
2025 marks the 500th anniversary of the Anabaptist movement.
Who were the Anabaptists?
Radical reformers – Church planters – Peace activists – Pioneers of
religious liberty.

The ‘Encountering the Anabaptists’ course introduces their history,
beliefs, practices and contemporary relevance.

The course has been offered online three times in the past two years
– once a week for four weeks from 7pm to 9pm. Over 100 people
have participated in these courses.

There is interest in running the course again in the autumn, so it will
be running on the four Tuesdays in November (4, 11, 18 and 25). It
will cost only £20 and will include a copy of The Naked Anabaptist by
Stuart Murray.

For more information, please contact Stuart at anabaptist@bristolbaptist.
